CARING FOR PEOPLE
YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO HELP
The Community Service Center of Wilmore-High Bridge began in 1985 to help families in need. Originally started to provide clothing to families in need, the Center has expanded its services and staffing through the years. Currently the Center operates with a full time Director, work-study students and volunteers. The CSC is governed by a Board of Directors made up of eighteen local citizens. The Needs Assistance program has expanded to include budgeting and emergency financial assistance. Assistance with utilities, food, shelter, and household goods are also available.
The mission of the Community Service Center of Wilmore-High Bridge, Inc. is to identify the needs within the communities, to organize resources, and to develop programs so that such needs may be addressed.
The goal of CSC is to provide assistance for residents of Wilmore and High Bridge who are in financial crisis. The primary objective is restoration of independence for our clients. Our assistance is designed to help a family through a crisis situation, not to provide an ongoing source of income.

Our largest department is clothing. Clothing is displayed for ease of shopping. We have approximately 3,500 square feet of bargains. Proceeds from our Thrift Shop sales help support our Needs Assistance Program.
Our children’s clothing area is a great place to shop for back-to-school apparel, summer play clothes, or winter wear. One room contains children’s toys and supplies.
The book department is well stocked with paperbacks, textbooks, children’s books, and books on various topics. There is a large turnover of books at the Thrift Shop. Book donations are most welcome.
You name it and you will probably find it in the household section. We also have a good selection of drapes and bedspreads, if we can get them on the shelves before they are bought.
Credit Cards Accepted.
HOW CAN I HELP?
1. Thrift Shop workers: Volunteers are needed to work at our thrift shop just a few hours a week.
2. Meal Delivery: Volunteers are needed to deliver meals to our “Lunch Bunch”. We have several seniors who are home- bound and we deliver lunch to them Monday through Saturday weekly.
3. Drivers: Volunteers are needed to drive clients to the doctor and other appointments in the Wilmore-High Bridge community.
4. Donate: Donations of clothing, household items, and financial assistance are welcome. Donations are tax deductible. Donate with Pay Pal.
What Else Should I Know?
When you shop at Thrift Shop you are helping the community. How? Money made in the store is used to help others in crisis situations. We help others by paying utility bills to keep them from being disconnected and rent/mortgage to keep families in their homes. For more information about the services provided, or to volunteer please contact the director at the Center: 859-858-2819 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
