Nicholasville, Wilmore and Jessamine County residents are encouraged to bring their residential debris to either the Jessamine County Road Department on Longview Drive or Witt Lane (just past Talbott subdivision) in Wilmore during the 2016 Jessamine County-wide Clean-up, an event organized by Jessamine County Environmental Services. The event is scheduled for April 9-16; hours for both sites will be Saturday April 9 through Saturday April 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and closed Sunday April 17.
Nicholasville and Jessamine County residents may use curb side disposal as well, but are encouraged to drop off debris at a dump site if able. All items for curbside pick-up must be on the curb before 8:00 am Saturday April 9 to ensure pickup. There is no need to call and schedule curbside pickups. The City of Wilmore will not offer curbside pickup. Wilmore residents may bring their items to the Witt Lane site.
During the clean-up, restrictions will be placed on the types of debris accepted at the designated dumping sites and/or picked up at curbside. Absolutely no commercial debris (shingles, dry wall, etc.) will be accepted. “If a pile has these items in it, none of the pile will be picked up,” Public Services Director Mike Cassidy said. “Bricks, concrete block, and asphalt, dirt, normal household waste (daily trash and food garbage, etc.), storm brush and tires are also unacceptable items and will not be picked up,” Cassidy said.
Shingles, drywall, commercial debris and tires can be brought to the Jessamine County Convenience Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Charges will be at the normal rate.
Limbs and brush can be dropped off free of charge at the City of Nicholasville Waste Water Treatment Plant on Long Shun, Nicholasville Saturday April 9 to Saturday April 16 from 7:30 am – 7:00 pm and closed Sunday April 10.
