Over thousands of years\, these pictures gradually evolved into the Chinese characters we use today. \nJoin local community member Iris Li for a three-part interactive series (9/2\, 9/9\, 9/16) exploring one of the world’s oldest writing systems! Participants will discover how pictures became words and how Chinese characters reveal history\, creativity\, and wisdom of ancient Chinese civilization. \nWhile attending the entire series is encouraged\, you also have the option of just attending 1-2 sessions as your schedule allows. SUMMARY:Railside Caboose Museum
DESCRIPTION:Visit an authentic caboose in downtown Wilmore. This former Southern Railway bay-window caboose was donated to the City of Wilmore by Norfolk Southern. It is a mini museum featuring an array of railroad memorabilia\, plus historical items from High Bridge and Wilmore. Outside  the museum there is a seating area which allows trainspotters an up-close view of the many Norfolk Southern trains passing across E. Main St. in Downtown Wilmore. The museum is open on Saturdays\, 10 a.m. to 12 noon\, from May through end of October.  It is also open during special city events and festivals\, as well as by special arrangements. \n

SUMMARY:Railside Caboose Museum
DESCRIPTION:Visit an authentic caboose in downtown Wilmore. This former Southern Railway bay-window caboose was donated to the City of Wilmore by Norfolk Southern. It is a mini museum featuring an array of railroad memorabilia\, plus historical items from High Bridge and Wilmore. Outside  the museum there is a seating area which allows trainspotters an up-close view of the many Norfolk Southern trains passing across E. Main St. in Downtown Wilmore. The museum is open on Saturdays\, 10 a.m. to 12 noon\, from May through end of October.  It is also open during special city events and festivals\, as well as by special arrangements. \n
