Welcome to Wilmore, Kentucky
What makes I welcome you to Wilmore, home to nearly 6,000 citizens. It was founded as a railroad town in 1876 with the building of the nearby historic High Bridge Railroad Bridge that spans the Kentucky River Gorge and its palisades. We have five National Register Historic Districts, a Village Green, our beautiful 32-acre Centennial Park and several neighborhood parks.
Wilmore is home to Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary, both of which add a cosmopolitan touch to our community with their worldwide connections.
The institutions maintain beautiful campuses and are known for their academic programs, which involve participation in the Olympics and an equine program praised by Kentucky’s horse industry, and advanced theological training with a global outreach.
