DESCRIPTION:Join us in Downtown Wilmore and the adjacent Downtown Green for the 26th annual Arts & Crafts Festival.  Over 80 vendors are registered to participate\, featuring a wide variety of quality handcrafted items such as fiber arts\, photography\, painting\, pottery\, jewelry\, woodworking\, wreaths\, holiday decor and food items.  A variety of food trucks will be on the food court – Rice Street.  For children there will be pony rides\, a magician’s show\, and the Caboose Trackside Museum.  Beginning at 3 p.m. grab a chair and enjoy the lively sounds of Power Play\, a rock\, soul and funk horn band playing hits from the 60’s and 70’s.  performing on E. Main Street.

DESCRIPTION:Every spring on the first Saturday of May (also known as KY Derby Day)\, the Wilmore Community Development Board sponsors a one-day community flower sale. This year’s event takes place May 3rd\, 8 a.m. to 12 noon\, in the Goble’s parking lot on E. Main\, adjacent to the railroad tracks. There will be a large variety of annuals in hot and cool colors\, sun and shade loving varieties. In addition\, there will be some perennials and hanging baskets. These are always very healthy plants and are reasonably priced. This is a rain-or-shine event!

Main St. & Lexington Ave. \nRegister to be in the parade:  2024 Veterans Day Parade Registration \n  \nLine-up for the parade is at 9:30am and the parade begins at 10:00am. \nParade LINE-UP: Rice Street & Walters Avenue beginning at 9:30am. \nParade route – Left on E. Main St. to Lexington Ave.  Right on Lexington Ave and proceed to the drive for Thomson-Hood Veterans Center.  The parade will wrap around both Wesley Village and the Veterans Center in order to allow their residents to view while staying safely distant. \n

DESCRIPTION: Do you or someone you know want to save money on energy costs?   Two free sessions are scheduled for Saturday\, July 27\, 2024 and Saturday\, August 24\, 2024 at the Wilmore Municipal Center from 10:00 – 11:30 AM.   Come learn about various sources of energy including solar\, but also learn tips and tricks to save energy in your home in general from an experienced leader in the solar industry\, Daniel Wier\, Owner of Commonwealth Solar LLC.\n         These sessions are sponsored by the Community based “Solar Over Wilmore” committee that is working toward lowering the energy costs for the City of Wilmore by adding eighty (80) solar panels on the Dan Glass Pavilion located behind the Wilmore Municipal Center.\n\n—————————————————-\nSolar Over Wilmore Project Update:\nOur grassroots project to add a 40 KW Solar Array to the Dan Glass Pavilion is off to a good start. Thanks to all those who have sponsored a solar panel or part of one to help solarize the City of Wilmore office complex by installing eighty solar panels on the Dan Glass Pavilion located behind the Wilmore Municipal Center. So far\, we have donations and pledges of over $18\,000 toward our goal of $64\,000.\n\nThroughout the summer look for a tent with a large solar panel on display at the Farmers Market on Saturdays\, parades like on July 4th and the Fall Festival in October. As the coordinator of the project\, I am hoping that citizens who love living in our beautiful City of Wilmore will want to “give back” to the city by sponsoring a solar panel or part of one.
