SUMMARY:Solar Over Wilmore - Dan Glass Pavilion Project RIBBON CUTTING
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the official ribbon cutting and dedication of the solar panels on the Dan Glass Pavilion behind the Wilmore Municipal Center!  There will be solar education\, give aways and refreshments to help us celebrate this community funded project! \n  \n\nLATEST UPDATE – \n\nA Give-Back to Wilmore Project  – January 2026 Update \nOur solar project is complete!\nAs you can see by the pictures\, our Solar Over Wilmore Project at the\nDan Glass Pavilion was completed as of Friday\, December 19\, 2025.\nThe crew of Commonwealth Solar LLC under the direction of owner\, Dan\nWier\, guided the men to install seventy 590-watt solar panels on the roof of\nthe pavilion in cold but dry weather for a total of 41.3 KW of solar energy\ngeneration. They were also able to run all the wire into the City Hall\nbuilding and connect it to the two inverters and the electrical service panel.\nNext\, we await the Jessamine County Electrical Inspector to come and do\nthe required inspection. We will announce a Ribbon Cutting ceremony\nearly in 2026. We will be placing all donors’ names on recognition plaques\nat the pavilion and one inside City Hall. \nThanks for your prayers and financial support in 2024 and 2025. DESCRIPTION:Join us in Downtown Wilmore and the adjacent Downtown Green for the 26th annual Arts & Crafts Festival.  Over 80 vendors are registered to participate\, featuring a wide variety of quality handcrafted items such as fiber arts\, photography\, painting\, pottery\, jewelry\, woodworking\, wreaths\, holiday decor and food items.  A variety of food trucks will be on the food court – Rice Street.  For children there will be pony rides\, a magician’s show\, and the Caboose Trackside Museum.  Beginning at 3 p.m. grab a chair and enjoy the lively sounds of Power Play\, a rock\, soul and funk horn band playing hits from the 60’s and 70’s.  performing on E. DESCRIPTION:Every spring on the first Saturday of May (also known as KY Derby Day)\, the Wilmore Community Development Board sponsors a one-day community flower sale. This year’s event takes place May 3rd\, 8 a.m. to 12 noon\, in the Goble’s parking lot on E. Main\, adjacent to the railroad tracks. There will be a large variety of annuals in hot and cool colors\, sun and shade loving varieties. In addition\, there will be some perennials and hanging baskets. These are always very healthy plants and are reasonably priced. This is a rain-or-shine event!

Main St. Registration and qualifying tests start at 11 a.m. and racing begins at 1 p.m. Due to the extensive preparations for this event\, E. Main St. from the Post Office to the railroad tracks will be closed from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. \nRegistration forms will be available on day of event at the Registration/Info table starting at 11 a.m. Note: registering does not guarantee participation as many cars are sponsored by businesses who already have drivers in place. As vacancies become available\, drivers will be pulled from the registrations. There is no fee to participate. \nThere will be food trucks plus regular businesses will be open. Bring a chair and enjoy the fun!
