Storytelling fans and newcomers to the festival will hear master storytellers with decades of experience. This year will see the first Kentucky Liars Contest on Saturday afternoon. Spine Tingling Tales\, a crowd favorite\, begin at 6:30 on Friday night September 21. \n“Our imagination is captured by a story well told\,” said Ed Bryson\, the festival’s director and one of the featured storytellers. “It is a thrill to see people lost in trance as they hang onto a story’s plot line.” Five master storytellers will perform from the festival’s stage. \nWilmore is known for family friendly events\, said Judy Woolums\, Wilmore’s Community Development director. “We are very excited that the More Tales Story Telling Festival has become a featured event in Wilmore.” Storytelling fans and those new to the art can attend the festival free of charge thanks to our generous donors and sponsors. DESCRIPTION: Do you or someone you know want to save money on energy costs?   Two free sessions are scheduled for Saturday\, July 27\, 2024 and Saturday\, August 24\, 2024 at the Wilmore Municipal Center from 10:00 – 11:30 AM.   Come learn about various sources of energy including solar\, but also learn tips and tricks to save energy in your home in general from an experienced leader in the solar industry\, Daniel Wier\, Owner of Commonwealth Solar LLC.\n         These sessions are sponsored by the Community based “Solar Over Wilmore” committee that is working toward lowering the energy costs for the City of Wilmore by adding eighty (80) solar panels on the Dan Glass Pavilion located behind the Wilmore Municipal Center.\n\n—————————————————-\nSolar Over Wilmore Project Update:\nOur grassroots project to add a 40 KW Solar Array to the Dan Glass Pavilion is off to a good start. Thanks to all those who have sponsored a solar panel or part of one to help solarize the City of Wilmore office complex by installing eighty solar panels on the Dan Glass Pavilion located behind the Wilmore Municipal Center. So far\, we have donations and pledges of over $18\,000 toward our goal of $64\,000.\n\nThroughout the summer look for a tent with a large solar panel on display at the Farmers Market on Saturdays\, parades like on July 4th and the Fall Festival in October. As the coordinator of the project\, I am hoping that citizens who love living in our beautiful City of Wilmore will want to “give back” to the city by sponsoring a solar panel or part of one. One more thought. Please consider donating overtime if that will be easier for you. Donate any amount each month for the remainder of 2024. You don’t have to sponsor a solar panel all at once. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER:  https://runsignup.com/Race/KY/Wilmore/RJCorman5KRun \n  \nA beautiful (and challenging) 5K run through downtown Wilmore and surrounding subdivisions.  This race is in conjunction with Wilmore’s Festival of the 4th held annually.  Mr. Corman\, along with Taylor Made Farm and Central Bank\, were the original sponsors and helped create this annual event.  The race was renamed to honor and remember Mr. Corman’s contributions to Wilmore.  The run begins and ends at the Wilmore Municipal Center parking lot at 210 S. Lexington Ave.  Free t-shirt to all who pre-register.  Water available along the course and refreshments following the race. \nAwards to the top three male & female finishers and the top three in the following age categories: \n10 & under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 & over \nThe run begins and ends in the parking lot of the Wilmore Municipal Center\, located at 210 S.
