Chinese Language & Culture

Have you ever wondered how people wrote before there were books, pencils, or computers? More than 3000 years ago, ancient Chinese people began recording the world around them by drawing simple pictures. Over thousands of years, these pictures gradually evolved into the Chinese characters we use today.
Join local community member Iris Li for a three-part interactive series (9/2, 9/9, 9/16) exploring one of the world’s oldest writing systems! Participants will discover how pictures became words and how Chinese characters reveal history, creativity, and wisdom of ancient Chinese civilization.
While attending the entire series is encouraged, you also have the option of just attending 1-2 sessions as your schedule allows. Please make sure you register for each individual session you plan to attend.
