Jessamine County Fiscal Court and Environmental Services is pleased to announce its Annual Fall Haul, an event that offers residents free disposal of hazardous residential debris. During the Saturday, October 28th event, citizens are encouraged to bring hazardous residential debris to the Jessamine County Convenience Center, 123 Hendren Way, Nicholasville, KY 40356, any time between 8 AM and 4 PM. This event is held to offer residents an opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous materials, thus keeping them out of our environment and preventing pollution.
Only residential hazardous waste materials will be accepted during Fall Haul; absolutely no commercial hazardous waste materials will be accepted, and no propane cylinders. Household hazardous waste items accepted during the event include paint, paint thinner, antifreeze, pesticides, pool chemicals, creosote, insect sprays, and more. Everyday household materials that are also considered hazardous, including moth balls, oven and floor cleaners, and arts and crafts supplies will also be accepted during the Fall Haul.
Absolutely no commercial debris such as shingles, dry wall, etc. Bricks, concrete block, and asphalt, dirt, normal household waste such as daily trash and food garbage, storm brush and tires are also unacceptable items and will not be accepted.
Other items can be brought the Jessamine County Convenience Center during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8 AM – 3:30 PM, such as shingles, drywall, commercial debris and tires. These items will be charged at the normal rate. They will not be accepted during Fall Haul event, only residential hazardous waste.
